Sir Keir's comments come as violence escalated for a sixth day  in Southport last week following the murders of three teenage girls.  "People in the country have the right to security, but we have seen Muslim communities being targeted, attacks on mosques," the Prime Minister said on Sunday.  "Other  communities are segregated, thanks to Nazi salutes in the streets, police raids, senseless violence and racist remarks, so no, I will not hesitate to call them what they are." are: right-wing criminals." By Saturday, 147 of the  had been arrested.  In Rotherham, at least 10 police officers were injured, one of them accidentally hit, when anti-immigration protesters threw sticks and sprayed them with fire extinguishers, South Yorkshire Police said.  Some  of the gang broke windows to get into the Holiday Inn Express and left a lot of trash.  The soldier was unconscious and suffered  head injuries, the military said, adding that at least two others were suspected to have broken bones.  of the hotel's staff and residents, some of whom were asylum seekers, were "scared" but no one was injured, police said.  A person suspected of breaking the law was arrested.  Home Secretary Yvette Cooper called the footage "appalling" and said the government was encouraging police  to do "the hardest thing".  At a second restaurant in Tamworth, Staffordshire, staff said they dealt with a "robbery" on Sunday night. There,  people threw rockets, smashed windows, set fires and fought with police, Staffordshire Police said.  Meanwhile in Middlesbrough, rioters break windows of houses and cars and throw things at soldiers. In Dorset in , 600 men from opposing sides gathered on Weymouth beach. Police said there was a "small incident" and one person was arrested for  public order offences. In , anti-immigration protesters in Bolton were met by a group of up to 300 masked people who shouted "Allahu Akbar"  or "God is great".  Greater Manchester Police have issued a section 60AA order in the city requiring people to "remove any face covering used to hide or conceal their appearance". The violence followed similar incidents earlier this week in Southport, Belfast, Hartlepool, Hull, Liverpool, Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Sunderland and elsewhere.  In a statement released on Sunday, the Home Office promised greater protection for mosques  as part of  new measures it said could "immediately ensure" they can  return to worship as soon as possible.  Sir Keir pointed out that the response to the violence may reflect how the 2011 riots were handled when he was head of public prosecutions.  "We  have a straightforward process for law enforcement, which means  we can be caught and the cases come quickly," he said.  "I  was part of it myself in 2011 when I was the director of public prosecutions, I decided to do everything I could to bring the thieves to justice as soon as possible."  ministers have proposed allowing the courts to sit for 24 hours to speed up cases - as they did in 2011 - while the police  have a system to train additional officers for violence.
