The Last Days of the Biden Campaign

Biden's last public appearance in Delaware before announcing he would withdraw from the race |
Five nights ago, I stood on the sidewalk at Dover Air Force Base and watched Joe Biden, wearing a black jacket and baseball cap, carefully walk down the steps of Air Force One.
From my position in the press group of the trip, I could see that he was controlling every uncertain thing, as if it was a government job. The plane was so weak that it was impossible to escape. It seems that the weakness of humans in ancient times has defeated the strongest man in the world.
Mr. Biden is 81 years old and has been diagnosed with Covid. We flew back from Las Vegas, a disappointing end to a trip that meant hitting the campaign trail as a whole. Page
Dover, which the news agency now reiterated and announced that he is withdrawing from the election, was his last public appearance before leaving the race on Sunday. If you are now thinking about the end of your line.
A lot has changed in a week.
Last Monday, when I and other reporters joined him on the presidential plane for a press trip to Nevada, the president clearly felt that the Democratic nomination was still up for grabs.
Donald Trump fired an assassin's gun two days ago, giving Mr. Biden's political retreat comes amid growing calls from congressional Democrats to drop out of the race. The campaign is expected to energize black and Hispanic voters, who tend to support Democrats but whose support for Mr. Biden has declined since 2020. The NAACP is a support group. I told some of the attendees who were dancing casually before Mr. Biden spoke. "Four more years," he shouted from there.
But the next morning, things started to get out of hand.
Biden's final campaign stop in Nevada, before announcing he had Covid
Down the street is the original Lindo Michoácan Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. It is one of the organized media sites where the president can connect with the voters. They brought in the press to close the door of the president. When the door opened, I was surprised to see how pale he was and how much shorter he was than the day before when he was challenging the diners. We shouted questions about the growing list of Democrats questioning his eligibility to run - he did not respond. Then they brought us back to the press van, and he did a radio interview with it. We waited for . He waited. We spent more than 90 minutes in the car printing in the sweltering Nevada heat when the car stopped. It was clear now that something was wrong. Suddenly an email from his friend at the alkhabrfdakika and the presenter of another part of his speech announced on stage that Mr Biden tested positive for Covid. When I tried to reach a White House official to find out what was going on, they told me to get back in my car and said we were leaving. The engine started revving and we passed through the Las Vegas area, an unknown location. The campaign was revolutionary. Suddenly, with flashing lights and police outside, the stadium appeared. The president went home to Delaware to recover from Covid, the media tour is over. He would soon have a campaign, too, when he announced a few days later that he would no longer run for president at his seaside home. In retrospect, his latest appearance at Dover Air Force Base seems to be a last-ditch effort to deny the inevitability of what media philanthropist George Clooney called "the war of the moment." Last time we spoke to Sidewalk about the decline in support for Democrats. This time he replied, "Okay." That's not what we asked for, not really. Maybe he misunderstood us, or maybe it meant that he thought he could get away with it.
