Somali beach attack kills 32, police say

A Somali police spokesman said at least 32 people were killed and many others injured after a suicide bomber and gunmen attacked a popular seaside resort on Saturday.
Abdifitah Adan Hassan said that 63 people were injured, some seriously. A video recorded on
shows many dead and injured  in the C/Asis area of Mogadishu.
regional media said the attack was carried out by Al-Shabaab militants, who control large parts of southern and central Somalia.
The group is linked to Al-Qaeda and has been waging a brutal war against the UN-backed Somali government for nearly 20 years.
An eyewitness told the AFP news agency that people were scared, "it was very difficult to know what was happening because the shooting started shortly after the explosion."
Abdiladif Ali said that some people tried to run to the ground, while others tried to escape from there.
"I saw injured people on the beach, people were screaming in fear, and it was hard to tell who was dead and who was  alive," he added.
At least five people were responsible for the attack, with Mr Hasan saying one attacker blew himself up and killed three others.
The man who led the attack was arrested alive, a police spokesman told reporters in Mogadishu.
