Thousands gather for Trump's first rally since shooting

People line up outside the arena

Thousands of people turned out for Donald Trump's first  public meeting since he was shot  in the ear by a gunman in a shooting in Pennsylvania last week.
Trump will speak in Grand Rapids, Michigan at around 5pm EST (10pm BST) on Saturday, but people are already lining up for the rally early in the morning.
Lines stretched  about three miles (4.8 km) outside  Van Del Arena when the gates opened around 1:00 PM EST.
In more than two hours before Trump and his new partner, JD Vance, will take the stage, the  12,000 stadium will close its doors.
The biggest change since last week's convention in Butler, Pennsylvania, is that the ceremony was  held indoors, allowing security personnel to carefully screen who enters and stop outside threats.
shooter William Crooks was able to target Trump in Pennsylvania by climbing onto a rooftop near the convention. Many of the
Trump supporters who showed up for Saturday's event at Michigan's Battlegrounds did not let the gunshots, which injured Trump's ear and killed an audience member, stop them. It is made with red Make America Great Again hats, as well as cowboy hats, shirts and shirts reminiscent of the American flag. T-shirts with the Trump logo are being sold.
The 26-year-old daughter of Wendy and Steve Upcott did not want  to attend the meeting because she feared for their safety in an attack. But they decided to come anyway, they had a strong desire to show their support for the first president after the war.
"The chance of another pregnancy is only one week," said Wendy Upcott of Clarkston, Michigan.
Because the Grand Rapids event was a domestic affair, it will be  easier to secure than the Butler meeting, former Secret Service agent Jason Russell told the alkhabrfdakika.
There will be metal detectors that the crowd will pass through while the military searches the entire building, Russell said.
Trump will  not be seen until he leaves the stage with several Secret Service agents.
"You will have excellent staff on site," Mr. Russell said.  investigators have yet to say why the 20-year-old gunman shot Trump but was killed by secret agents.  The company is facing a serious investigation as to how the gunman was able to open fire in a nearby building as the crowd told the police.

Rally-goers wait next to security fencing to enter the arena
It's one of several campaigns the former president has made in the battleground state as polls show him and President Joe Biden in close competition. The gathering coincides with the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Trump has accepted his party's nomination for president and will make his first public speech since the assassination attempt. This is the first time Trump has appeared in his campaign with his deputy, Sen. JD Vance is from Ohio. Mr. Biden, on the other hand, stopped campaigning after being diagnosed with COVID-19. He continues to resist growing calls from his members to quit the race, citing his age and cognitive abilities.

Trump remained silent on the drama that rocked the Democratic Party, focusing his speech at the Republican caucus on the attack against the Biden administration. In an hour and a half speech, he talked mostly about immigration and immigration concerns, while also covering the July 13 shooting that nearly killed him in Butler, Pennsylvania. "I wouldn't be here," he told the crowd, adding, "God is with me." Trump's campaign also announced that he will hold another rally in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 24 at the Bojangles Coliseum.
